ZONING AMENDMENT TO REGULATE SHORT-TERM RENTALS AND STREAMLINE DEVELOPMENT
The subject of the Public Hearing will be Zoning Bylaw Amendment Bylaw No. 2025-023.
The purpose of Bylaw No. 2025-023 is to add regulations around the use of short-term rentals (STRs) in Lillooet as well as to align minimum lot sizes for subdivision with the Official Community Plan in the RR-2 and AGR zones, and to change the front setback for residential accessory structures in the RR-1 and RR-2 zones. The bylaw proposes to expand the zones where STRs are permitted and to introduce a Principal Residency Requirement in the residential zones. The bylaw will also require STRs to obtain a business licence to operate.
A copy of the bylaw is available online as well as at the District Office, 615 Main St, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-12pm and 1pm-4:30pm, or can be requested at info@lillooet.ca. Council will consider the bylaw at the Regular Meeting on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, 5pm.
All persons who believe their interest is affected by the proposed zoning amendments shall be afforded a reasonable opportunity to be heard in person, by a representative, or by written submission on the matters contained within the proposed amendment bylaws at the Public Hearing.
Written submissions may be sent to District of Lillooet, Box 610, Lillooet, BC, V0K IV0. Email submissions to planning@lillooet.ca. Submissions must be received by 4pm, May 6, 2025. All submissions must include your name and street address and are considered public information, pursuant to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
