Lillooet is home to a variety of health services to serve the needs of residents.

Lillooet Hospital & Health Centre

The Lillooet Hospital & Health Centre is a Level 1 Community Hospital, located at 951 Murray Street in Lillooet in the Fraser Canyon, the hospital offers services including 24 hour emergency, laboratory.

The Health Centre offers a variety of services in one location. The types of services delivered depend on patient needs and on whether comparable services are available nearby.

Emergency Services

Emergency services are available at the Lillooet Hospital 24 hours per day. If you have a medical emergency, call 9-1-1.

Acute Care Services

Six in-patient beds to support acute medical, end of life, and convalescence.

Ambulatory Care Unit - for booked out-patient medical procedures available four (4) days per week.

Laboratory and Medical Imaging (X-Ray)

Lab and x-ray services are provided on the written request of a physician.

Dietician Services / Diabetes Educator

Available at the Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre every two (2) weeks.

Appointments can be made at (250) 256-1304. Physician referral is not required.

Mental Health & Addiction Services

Mental health services are available by appointment at the Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre. Services include counseling and information regarding depression, grief, emotional distress, reactions to traumatic events, adjustments to change and serious mental illnesses. Referral to other resources is also available, including to more comprehensive Mental Health services in Kamloops. Please call (250) 256-1343.

Home & Community Care

Home and community care nursing provides non-emergency professional nursing services to people at home including long term care assessments. Services include assessment of nursing care needs and consultation, care coordination, and direct nursing care such as palliative care, wound care and teaching. Nursing services are provided while encouraging independence and self-management.

Home Support

Home support services are designed to help people remain independent in their own homes with support of family, friends and community services. Home Support services include personal care, caregiver respite, or other specialized care at home. Home Support also provides a frozen meal services. Please call (250) 256-1313.

Adult Day Care

The Adult Day program offers support to maintain independence and socialization for adults and seniors. The Adult Program also provides respite for caregivers. This service is provided every Tuesday and Wednesday at Sumac Suites. This program can be accessed through Home and Community Care by calling (250) 256-1326.

Support Living

Sumac Suites has 6 senior’s living suites that are subsidized by BC Housing. For more information contact the Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre at (250) 256-1340.

Residential Care

Mountain View Lodge provides 21 complex care beds for individuals who require 24 hour nursing care as well as 1 respite bed. These beds are accessed through Home and Community Care. Individuals must have a long term care assessment completed to determine eligibility for residential care.

The Lillooet Dental Clinic offers services including general family dentistry, crown and bridge services (including Lumineers), complete and partial dentures, invisalign orthodontics, root canal therapy, preventative care, treatment of gum disease, and tooth whitening.

When scheduling Kamloops medical appointments, let the receptionist know that you will be using Health Connections. Although medical appointments have priority, everyone is eligible to use this service if space is available.

One-way fare is $5.00. Make sure you have the exact fare ready as the driver does not carry any change.

The Lillooet Friendship Centre Society provides a number of community, family, health, social, educational, employment, cultural and recreational Programs. These programs and services that are free of charge and open to all members of the community.

Addiction Services

Primary and tertiary services that include: one to one sessions; group sessions; referrals to treatment and community education. For individuals that may be interested in services that incorporate a traditional and cultural aspect - services are available through the Addiction Service Program. The program model incorporates a harm reduction perspective and is available to the community at large.

Lillooet Food Bank Services

The Lillooet Food Bank at the Lillooet Friendship Centre is registered with the Provincial and National Food Bank affiliates and provides supplementary and emergency food supplies to those in need Service is available to individuals and families and is free of charge and open to the community at large.

Victims Assistance, Safe Home, and Trauma Counseling Services

All social health programs operate at a office, home visit, and crisis level and offer one to one sessions, groups sessions, and provide services across a wide geographical area. Services are open to the community at large and flexible to meet individual, family, and community needs.
