Lillooet Community Fund

What is the Lillooet Community Fund?

Established in 2007, the Lillooet Community Fund is an endowment fund established to improve the social, cultural, artistic, educational, and recreational well-being of the residents of Lillooet.

A community fund is a collection of charitable gifts both large and small. These gifts are pooled and invested and the investment income is distributed as grants to local non-profit organizations. The capital is never touched, continues to grow with each new gift, generating income to meet a wide range of community interests, and needs for years to come.

While the fund will continue to grow through private donations, the interest earned will be used to fund grant applications from community organizations for projects that will benefit our residents, leaving a lasting legacy for our community.

How do I apply?

Application forms are available for funding of up to $1,000 per approved project. The deadline for spring submissions is April 15th; the deadline for fall submissions is October 15th.

How can I contribute?

The District of Lillooet is among the many communities that BC Interior Community Foundation serves. Nestled along the Fraser River, Lillooet boasts a unique blend of Indigenous heritage and natural beauty.

Our foundation focuses on preserving and celebrating Indigenous culture, supporting local businesses, and addressing the community’s social and economic needs. Through collaborative efforts, the foundation aims to enhance the quality of life for all residents.

If you wish to contribute directly towards your community’s development, you can donate to the Lillooet Community Fund as well as the Lillooet Community Smart and Caring Fund. Giving to this fund is your connection to local charity, providing support for Lillooet today while creating new choices for new projects in future.

All donations to these funds are invested and the principal is never spent, instead the interest from the fund is given out year-after-year, creating a perpetual source of income for your community.

Moreover, donations to these funds directly support the people and projects in the District of Lillooet.
