 Lillooet REC Centre COVID-19 Guidelines for Yoga

  • PAR Q (The Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire for Everyone)
    When you take part in any fitness activity you will be asked to either complete a PAR-Q, read the large poster version of the form, or complete and print the form here: PAR-Q Questionnaire. This form is designed to identify people for whom a change in physical activity may pose a risk.

COVID-19 UPDATES: 

  • Effective Monday October 25, proof of double vaccination will be required to access certain activities at the REC Centre including the weight room, adult indoor sports & fitness classes. Vaccine cards will not be required to access the swimming pool.
    In order to comply with the provincial health order, the REC Centre will be turning off all key fobs and requiring weight room passholders and drop-in users to first present their proof of COVID-19 vaccination and government ID (for ages 19+) at the front desk.
    Those who wish to have the REC Centre keep their proof of vaccine status on file will need to fill in a consent form. This information will not be shared with anyone and will be destroyed when it is no longer required. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
    If you do not wish to have your vaccine status kept on file you will need to check in at the office and present your vaccine card at every visit.

  • Masks are mandatory in the REC Centre for ages 5+, including the weight room.
  • High intensity group exercise is permitted only if all participants and instructors provide proof of full vaccination.
  • Low intensity group exercise, such as hatha yoga, is permitted if all participants provide proof of a minimum of one dose of COVID-19 vaccine until October 24, after which time two doses will be required.
  • All weight room users must sign in at the office or weight room for the purposes of contact tracing.
  • Maximum of 6 people in the weight room at a time, 2 per room.
  • Please respect physical distancing guidelines at all times in the weight room. Give people their space (2.5 metres) while exercising.
  • Water fountains are turned off, please bring a water bottle from home.

If you are planning an event or gathering at the REC Centre it must be compliant with the Interior Health order on gatherings and events dated September 13, 2021. This order is specific to the Interior Health region and will be in effect until October 23, 2021, unless renewed by the health officer.
The Provincial Gathering and Events Order, which is in effect until January 31, 2022, will be followed once the regional health order has expired.

COVID-19 operational adjustments:

  • Building Hours: 7:00am-8:00pm Monday to Friday 
  • REC Centre staff will perform a thorough cleaning of the facility twice per day including high contact areas. All users are expected to use the provided disinfectant spray bottles and paper towel to clean their equipment before and after use. 
  • Squash Court: low intensity squash games are permitted.
  • Bouldering Wall: Reopened as of July 23, 2021. All users must have a current waiver/consent form on file. Please visit the office to complete your safety orientation prior to climbing. Max of 2 climbers at a time, physical distancing must be respected, masks are mandatory.
  • Gymnasium: open for drop-in use. Check the daily schedule on Facebook for closures and schedule changes.
  • Public Showers: Available as of July 1, 2021. Cost: $3.00, payable at the office.
We ask that you do not enter the Lillooet REC Centre if you feel ill, if you have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus, or if you have recently returned from outside the country. Please practice physical distancing and good hygiene. Please be patient and respectful towards other patrons and staff.

The District of Lillooet Recreational, Educational and Cultural Centre is the heart of the Lillooet Community. The REC Centre offers a variety of services and facilities, including:
  • Seasonal Indoor Swimming Pool- 25 metres 6 lanes, diving board, slide & dry sauna. Portable handicap lift available.- Open for the season on Friday September 17, 2021
  • Seasonal Ice Arena with an NHL-sized ice sheet, Concession, 5 Change Rooms and Mezzanine.  2021/22 season: September 27-March 18, 2022.
