Where is the Gold Country Region?

Gold Country is located in the heart of British Columbia's stunningly diverse interior, just 3 hours from Vancouver and the lower mainland. It is easily accessible by four major highways; Trans Canada Hwy 1, Hwy 97 North, Hwy 99 and Coquihalla Hwy 5.

Alpine mountains, wildflower meadows, sagebrush scented desert and vast ranchlands are rich with stories of gold panners, cowboys and First Nations Culture. Gold Country's heritage, wildlife and scenery makes every visit a great adventure.

What is Geocaching?

Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS endabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location.

A spawning channel and a historic bridge are just a couple of the cache sites waiting to be discovered as part of the Gold Country GeoTourism Program.

Use a GPS or treasure hunt style clues to locate these hidden “caches” in some fascinating locations around Lillooet.
