October 18-24 is Waste Reduction Week

October 13, 2021
October 18 – 24 is Waste Reduction Week in the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) and is being recognized by the District of Lillooet. As a municipality, the District of Lillooet is committed to conserving resources, protecting the environment and educating the community. The District recognizes the generation of solid waste and the needless waste of water and energy resources as global
environmental problems and endeavors to take the lead in our community toward environmental sustainability.

The week will be filled with opportunities to learn how we can individually and collectively reduce our waste.

To celebrate our commitment to waste reduction, resource conservation and community education we invite you to email your waste-related questions to utilities@slrd.bc.ca. The SLRD will collect the questions and publish a Q&A as a conclusion to the week.
