Local COVID-19 Cases

Download the Information Release here.

The District of Lillooet is aware of several confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the area and is working with Interior Health, First Nations Health Authority, Emergency Management BC, and other Provincial and Federal agencies to ensure appropriate measures are being taken for the wellbeing of residents.

First Nations Health Authority is the responding agency for Indigenous communities and Interior Health is the responding agency for non-Indigenous communities. Their websites are listed below, and you are encouraged to contact them if you have questions or concerns regarding the recently reported cases in the area.

The District of Lillooet’s role is to support these agencies when requested. The District is also your advocate in encouraging and facilitating communication and collaboration between local governments, health agencies, and other levels of government.

The District is cognisant of the personal privacy protection which IHA and FNHA utilize to avoid inadvertently discouraging people from being tested. Health and other government agencies will not provide the names or specific locations of individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19. However, they are working diligently on testing and identification to isolate confirmed positive cases and performing contact tracing to ensure those individuals are informed and isolating as well.

We urge you to remember that regardless of the number of confirmed cases at any one time, there may be the chance that someone is infected but asymptomatic. Protecting yourself, your loved ones, and your community is all our responsibility. You must continue to take recommended precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and we will get through this together.
