EVACUATION ALERT for the DISTRICT OF LILLOOET

The District of Lillooet is hereby placed on EVACUATION ALERT.

This EVACUATION ALERT is a notification of the potential danger due to the McKay Creek Wildfire.  This serves to notify residents of the potential for loss of life/property from the wildfire. Be prepared to leave this area with very short notice should the situation escalate to an Evacuation Order.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO EVACUATE AT THIS TIME.

The affected area covers the entire District of Lillooet (see map below). This ALERT may be followed by an “EVACUATION ORDER” whereby you must leave your home immediately. The RCMP will enforce the Order to Evacuate.

Pack water and food. Have these items readily available for quick departure. If time, pack up keepsakes.
  • Have a plan for pets and livestock.
  • Consider how you will transport your household members in the event of an evacuation order
  • If possible, arrange accommodation for your family.
